Hello Parents,
We are excited for the 18/19 school year and the parent board and teachers are already working to make it a wonderful year.
You have chosen a great school where parents are part of the fun and families begin lifelong friendships. Children build confidence and develop a love for learning. Our curriculum and staff encourage cognitive, social and emotional development while nurturing creativity and imagination.
For those of you who are new to the school, choosing to be a part of your child’s school experience is such a gift. It is a wonderful opportunity to be involved in your child’s learning and to really enjoy those special moments. You will see how our play-based preschool integrates learning at all levels developing your child’s curiosity, creativity, language, and self-confidence. We believe that this is the best preparation for lifelong learning.
You will be receiving emails throughout the summer to keep you advised of dates and information about the Co-op. We send a lot of information via email so we would like you to let us know if you have not started getting emails through the email distribution lists. Just to let you know: we use the terms 3 am class for our 3-year-old morning class and the term 4 am for our 4-year-old morning class. Just as an FYI (no one is at school at 4 in the morning). Please remember that our parent board members are volunteers who work to help our school. We will be distributing class lists and board lists later this summer as well as the school calendar. For now please mark the following dates on your calendar:
Friday, July 13 – Deadline for all health forms to be returned to Susan Smith our VP- you can drop off to the church office over the summer but call first to be sure they are there 925-828-1846 or email Susan and the Suzfreeman@yahoo.com email address in the c.c.
Friday, August 17th – 4:30 -7:45 Parent orientation This is a fun event where you get to know other parents and get ready for the beginning of school. You will sign up for various activities, pay August tuition payment and activity fees, order spirit wear and enjoy a pot-luck dinner with parents from your class. The evening also includes tours of the classroom and important information about the Co-op and we finish with a fun raffle and desert. Each family is required to have an adult attend this orientation. Children do not come to the orientation but infants are welcome.
Morning of Friday, August 17th New students to the 4am class and PreK class meet and greet. A teacher will schedule a 20 minute visit so children can see the classroom and a few classmates before the first day of school. Siblings are welcome. If you are a returning student you are not scheduled for a meet and greet as you already know the teachers and classroom.
Monday, August 20th the first day of school for 4am and PreK classes
Please pencil Thursday, October 10th for our Fall Festival and Silent Auction. A family fun night including a bounce house, food, games, a train and clown. Please note: We ask each family to work a shift at a booth to run this carnival. We are fine tuning the date and will confirm one date shortly.
More information will be coming via email from various board members throughout the summer regarding schedules and nametags, orientation invitation, school newsletter, maintenance etc.
